This privacy policy applies to the following applications published by RunBeat Media Ltd:

RunBeat Contracts
RunBeat Prospector
This policy covers our web applications, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and desktop apps (macOS and Windows).
Information We Collect
Our apps collect the minimum information necessary to provide their functionality:
- Account information: Email address and name, used for authentication via Amazon Cognito or Microsoft 365 sign-in.
- Audio recordings: RunBeat Pulse allows presenters to record voice links for broadcast. These recordings are uploaded to our servers and stored for playout purposes only. Audio is only recorded when you explicitly tap the record button.
- Usage data: Basic app interaction data to maintain service quality. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Permissions
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively in RunBeat Pulse for recording voice links for radio broadcast. The microphone is only accessed when you initiate a recording. This permission is not used in RunBeat Listener, CRM, or Compliance.
- Internet: Required to stream audio, sync data, and authenticate users.
- Background audio: Used to continue radio playback or playout monitoring when the app is in the background.
- Notifications (desktop and mobile): Used to deliver alerts for compliance issues, system events, and pipeline updates. You can disable notifications in your OS settings at any time.
Desktop Apps
Our desktop apps for macOS and Windows are lightweight shells that load the live RunBeat web application. They do not:
- Store your data locally (beyond standard browser cache)
- Access files on your computer (except when you explicitly use a file picker, e.g. uploading media)
- Run background processes when closed
- Collect any additional data beyond what the web application collects
Desktop apps auto-update in the background to ensure you have the latest version. Updates are downloaded from our servers over HTTPS and verified before installation. macOS apps are signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate and notarised by Apple.
RunBeat Prospector (Desktop)
RunBeat Prospector is a self-contained desktop application that stores data locally on your machine:
- Local database: Company data from Companies House is synced to a local SQLite database on your machine for fast offline searching. This data is publicly available from Companies House.
- License key: Your license key and activation status are stored locally.
- Saved searches and notes: Your search criteria, watchlist, and company notes are stored locally and are not transmitted to our servers.
- Companies House API: Director and filing lookups are made directly to the Companies House API. We do not proxy or store these requests.
